About

“Happy” vs. “Happiness”

I was in the 7th grade when my best friend, Victoria, introduced me to the phrase “my happy.” To her, happiness came in the form of very particular places, things, events, and people. I quickly adopted this way of thinking.

The Blog

Starting anew. That’s what this is about. Starting anew each day.

You see-I had been doing it all wrong. I was always trying to find “my happy” by attempting to recreate the same good feelings and events from my past.

But now I see-nothing can be recreated. Not truly. And, anyway, there is fault in finding hope from yesterday. Because soon enough yesterday fades, taking that hope along with it. Then, you’ve got to look for your “happy” elsewhere. And if you don’t find it, where do you turn?

Now I believe in finding that light-that motivation-from within, at each waking moment of each day.

What is my purpose? That is a question I am trying to answer for myself each day.

I don’t want to be floating along anymore. Just going with the flow of life. I don’t have to change the world. But by asking this question-I am hoping to change my world. I am hoping that each day this question leads me to a day that is more inspired and that serves a greater purpose than just “going with the flow.”

And health. It is not without health that I want to live my days. I have experienced the healing power of exercise and nutritious foods-on the body, as well as on the mind.

And it is through this blog, that I am attempting to document this new lifestyle of mine. It is through this that I am holding myself accountable.

So, I appreciate you stopping by. You serve as part of my motivation, and in turn I hope that something here also enlightens you!
